General Recipe Guidelines:
For a general recipe, use about 1 cup of frozen fruit, 1 half of a frozen raw banana, 1 half cup of veggies or greens, 2 tablespoons of protein, 1 half cup of liquid and then however much you want for your toppings. However, you can play around with these serving sizes in order to get the consistency that you like.
Blend together your fruit, veggies, liquid and protein. Blend it only until it reaches a nice creamy, thicker consistency. You want to be able to eat this with a spoon, so try not to make it too thin.
Once you have all of your ingredients blended together, pour it into a bowl. Top it off with some whole fresh fruit, granola, or whatever toppings you desire.
Enjoy your smoothie bowl! Do you notice how much more filling a smoothie is when you eat it with a spoon? This not only leaves you more satisfied, but it also helps you to maintain a healthy weight. This is such a great alternative to the typical smoothie.
