Tis’ the season for DIY holiday home decor projects! This DIY holiday pallet project is super simple, fun, and makes for the perfect stocking holder for Christmas. If you don’t have a mantel to hang your stockings from, then this is the perfect project for you. Even if you do have a fireplace mantel, this holiday pallet can serve as decoration both inside or outside your home.
The pallet that I used for this project was something my neighbors were throwing away one night. Pallets are all over the place and you can almost always find them for free!
I like to use left over paint from other projects if at all possible. Also, small paint samples from Home Depot work wonderfully for these projects. This makes these DIY projects super affordable.
I like to use stencils to make my letters look nice and neat. However, you can try it free hand if you please.
I bought small hooks from Home Depot and attached them to the pallet to serve as the stocking holders. I found the hooks in the section with the command hooks. These hooks can be attached right into the wood pallet with a drill. They came in a pack of six which is perfect, especially if you need enough hooks for each family member’s stocking.
I bought snow flake ornaments from the dollar store to hang off of the extra hooks.
I found the most adorable furry white stockings at my local HomeGoods store.

Pallet projects are my absolute favorite! I love them because they are so simple and fun to create. You can really use your imagination and do almost anything with these projects. I am hoping to find some more free pallets in the future so that I can continue to add to my collection of DIY holiday decor projects.
