This DIY pallet project is simple, cheap, and makes for some very adorable patriotic decor!
Red, White & Blue Paint
For this project I used a pallet (which was free :)) and small sample size paints. I already had some left over white paint from previous projects so I used that for the stripes and the star, but I bought sample sizes of paint from Home Depot for the red and blue parts of the flag. The sample paints were less than three dollars a piece and were more than enough to finish this project!
The blue that I used is called “Navy Blue” by Behr. The red paint is called “Bullfighter Red” by Behr. For the star, I used a small metal star that I painted white and hung off of a nail that I inserted into the pallet. I have seen metal stars like the one I used sold on Amazon and sold at craft stores like Michaels. If you do not already have a small star to use or do not feel like going out and purchasing one, another alternative is to use a stencil and paint on white stars yourself.
This project is just one of the many things that you can do with pallets. A lot of the time, you can find pallets that people are either giving away for free or even planning on throwing away. Snatch them up if you can because they are so simple and fun to do projects with. All said and done, this project cost me less than ten dollars!
